The sun is finally out again...

This morning the kids had a big session in the gym and a big set in the water. I could tell that physically this was it for everyone and the intensity couldn't go any further beyond what they have done.  So one more challenge set of 60 x 25 Fly tonight and tomorrow morning we will go easier and just focus on the sprints. Timing wise, it is perfect because they pretty much have completed the entire week.  Exciting thing is that the kids are actually pretty ready for the Fly set this afternoon, even though they know it will be painful. Michaela said she really wants to do this set and doesn't want to miss out and "guys, it is only 60 x 25 Fly, ok? It's not that bad. It will be on 30 sec interval so you will have 10 sec rest after each one".

We had good breakfast right across from Currimundi Lake Beach, bacon, sausage, egg, waffle, and milkshakes. I had never seen Michaela eating that much before --- a full serving of 3 eggs on toast, a milkshake and another salad plate.  Gail: I told Michaela that it is not because she is picky on the kind of food items she likes, but rather the training is not hard enough to make her eat like a big girl. ^0^

After that, we took a scenery drive to the little towns of Mooloolaba and Maroochydore to see some beach parks and to take a walk at the big Sunshine Plaza Mall.  Found a Starbucks on the way so everyone stopped by for a drink.  I can't even describe how excited we all were when spotting the Starbucks green color and its sign.

The boys are semi-playing the video game now and soon will fall asleep (I bet) and Michaela has already fallen asleep half hour ago.  We will go back this afternoon and they are ready to knock the last hard workout down.  Tomorrow they will spend a day with their own host families and Sunday we will have the Zoo excursion.  One of my former UH swimmers, Melanie Schlanger, will visit us as well this weekend from the Gold Coast and will meet the kids to tell her stories of becoming a World Champion in 2007 and Olympic Gold Medallist in 2008.  She will show Albert the Olympic ring she has as a proud (and forever) Olympian because Albert wants to see it.

I am looking forward to support the swimmers this afternoon and then move on to a fun weekend. Will give you more update later tonight and have a good evening there.  G'Day to all of you...
